VCCA Awardees
Tippen Davidson
The Annual Tippen Davidson Award for the Arts was established to recognize leadership and long standing support by individuals of cultural endeavors in Volusia County by the Volusia County Cultural Alliance. Tippen Davidson's dedication to the community came from his personal commitment and financial support to a wide range of cultural institutions and programs. Owing to a deep belief that a local newspaper had a responsibility for improving the quality of life in the community, Davidson led the News-Journal in support of over 180 civic and cultural organizations and events. The Tippen Davidson Award for the Arts is one way the County can promote Tippen's vision and inspire those who strive to advance culture in our community just as he did with such passion.
